According to the agreement between the National Natural Parks of Colombia institution and the four indigenous communities native to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Tayrona must close its doors during the following dates:
• February 1–15 (During the Kugkui Shikasa period)
• June 1–15 (During the Saka Juso period)
• October 19 – November 2 (During the Nabbatashi period)
These closures are to allow the ecosystem to rest and to enable the indigenous communities to perform cleansing and harmonization rituals.
The rest of the time, Tayrona Park is open, and entrance fees vary depending on the high or low season.
